General Rules

Those who have completed PDC or any other equivalent course can join B A/BSc course. Whoever has acquired higher degree cannot join lower courses. But those who have completed degree from professional colleges can join BA/BSc.
Those who have completed a course either here or outside will not be allowed to join the same course with the same subjects again. Students will not be allowed to do two courses at a time. Those who have passed degree or postgraduate examination can take an additional course in new subjects in two or one year respectively.

Rank list and admission
The rank lists will contain (1) The list of the candidates provisionally selected for the admission (2) The list of the candidates who may try their chance for admission (3) The date and time of interview. Every chance list should contain at least thrice the number of the existing vacancies.
The rank list shall be prepared quota-wise i.e. merit quota, SC /ST/ SEBC quota and special categories (physically handicapped etc). The university and the government orders relating to the reservation of seats for SC /ST/SEBC, sports physically handicapped etc will be strictly followed. The university and the Government orders will be strictly followed in the publication of the rank lists, for the despatch of interview cards and for admission
The vacancies arising even after the third round will be notified on the college notice board with time schedule for submitting the requests by applicant and application of lists. Those among the applicants, who failed to secure admission in the college, shall be directed to give their names and other relevant details on a date to be fixed by the Principal. From among such applicants selection will be made, rank list will be prepared and admission will be conducted on the date to be fixed by the Principal. Interview cards shall not be issued for this final round of admission. Admission to a particular course shall be closed on the date specified by the university.

Preparation of Rank list
A selection committee shall prepare the rank list. There shall be a selection committee for every subject for which admission is sought. The Principal shall be the Chairperson and the Head of Department of the concerned subject a member.
The concerned index shall be prepared as per rules.The ranking of marks will be generally the total marks for the concerned subject plus weightage marks plus bonus marks minus handicap marks.

Handicap marks
A handicap of 10 marks for every attempt after the first attempt will be subtracted from the total marks for those who have taken 2 or more chances to complete the examination. The number of chances means the number of chances taken for passing any part of the examination. Appearance for improvement of marks will not be considered as an additional chance.

Weightage marks
Candidates who passed an examination equivalent to Pre-Degree course of MG University in the same rate and only for the same optional subject are also eligible for the weightage of 25 marks.
The total marks less handicap marks plus weightage will be as follow

a) BSc- Total marks obtained in the +2 or equivalent examination lei handicap marks plus marks obtained for the particular subject for whic admission is sought for.

b)BA-
i) BA in English - Total marks obtained in the qualifying examination less handicap plus twice the marks obtained i Part I English of the Pre-Degree or equivalent examinatio: weightage 25 marks to those who have taken English are optional for the Pre-Degree or equivalent course.
ii) BA in Language- Total marks obtained in the qualifyinj examination less handicap plus twice the marks obtained ii Part II Second Language of the Pre-Degree or equivalen examination and weightage of 25 marks to those who havs taken the language as optional for the Pre-Degree 01 equivalent course.
iii) BA in Arts subjects- Total marks obtained in the qualifying examination less handicap plus twice the marks obtained in the concerned Optional of the Pre-Degree or equivalenl examination and weightage of 25 marks to those who have taken the concerned subject for the Pre-Degree or equivalent course. The conceVned subject for the award of the weightage of 25 marks will be as follows.

(a) BA-History/Islamic History- weightage of 25 marks for Pre-Degree or equivalent History/Islamic History.
(b) BA-Economics- weightage of 25 marks for Pre-Degree or equivalent Economics
(c) BA-Philosophy- weightage of 25 marks for Pre-Degree or equivalent Psychology or Logic.
(d) BA-Politics- weightage of 25 marks for Pre-Degree or equivalent Politics or Elements of Political Science

c) P G Courses.
Total marks obtained for the part of BA/Bsc examination relating to the optional subjects, main and subsidiary put together less handicap marks plus the marks obtained for the main subject, theory and practical if any.

a) MA-English- Percentage marks obtained under Part I English or percentage of marks obta ined under Part II English whichever is higher, less handicap marks plus weightage marks of 10 in the case of those who have taken English as optional under Part III of B A Degree course.

b) MA-other languages- Percentage marks obtained under Part II in the concerned language or percentage of marks obtained under Part III in the case of those who have taken the concerned language as optional, whichever is higher, lessjiandicap marks plus weightage marks of 10 in the case of those who have taken the concerned language as optional under Part III of BA Degree course. The marks obtained for the main alone will be taken into account in calculating the percentage of marks for the concerned language as optional under Part III.

c) MA-Other subjects- Total marks obtained for the optional main subjects under Part III less handicap marks plus weightage marks of 10 in the case of those who have taken the concerned subjects as optional under Part III of BA

Degree course.
NB . In the case of those subjects for which applicant who have taken other subjects as optional and are declared qualified to seek admission, 75% of the total seats will be reserved for those who have taken the concerned subject as optional (Main) under Part III for the BA Degree course.

Bonus Marks:
10 marks for those applicants who have studied forB.A./B.Sc in the college.

15 marks for Degree and 5 marks for P.G. for N.C.C. &N.S.S.

For N.C.C. bonus marks the certificate should be signed by the Director and issued by the Directorate of N.C.C.

For N.S.S. bonus marks the certificates should be signed by the vice-chancellor or The Pro vice-chancellor and be issued to those volunteers who have completed 240 hours of work.

15 marks for the dependents of Ex-service men.

Reservation of Seats

One percent (1%) of the seats in Degree Courses shall be reserved for each of the three sections of the physically handicapped viz. the blind, the deaf and the orthopaedically handicapped w-ith provision for interchange of seats if candidates are not available in a particular category in any year.

There will be no reservation for the blind in Science Course.

The total percentage in this respect is 3% . The physically handicapped candidates should have a certificate of a Civil Surgeon indicating the percentage of their disability.

Reservation for Sports quota.

*One seat in each degree course for outstanding performance in sports and games.
*One seat for every 20 seats in P.O. course,
*Where the number of seats less than 20 for a subject, the seats may be pooled
together, treating M.A. and M.Sc separately.
*Where the number of seats is still less than 15 after such polling all the P.O. courses may be polled together.
*A minimum of one seat shall be allowed if there are not sufficient seats.
*The applicant for Sports seat should have represented at least the District Sports zone. Performance should be given to those who have represented at the State level.
*The applicant will have to produce the certificate from the Hon. Secretary of the State Association of the concerned event.
